Paddington is a shopping mecca with plenty to see and buy. Oxford Street stretches from the city to Bondi Junction with the majority of shops situated in the middle.
The best place to start would be around Boundary Street near Taylor Square (near the Puma Concept Store) to Queen Street Woollahra. With so much to see and do it may take a couple of visits to fit in all Paddington has to offer.
Paddington is home to many local designers such as Ksubi (Glenmore road), Sass & Bide, Calibre and Morrisey (Oxford Street).
Whilst the bulk of Paddington shops are located along the main drag, you will find many gorgeous boutiques along the side streets of Paddington. Notable streets include Glenmore Road and William Street which houses a plethora of boutique stores including The corner Shop and Belinda.
To recuperate after a day of shopping or simply a half way break Paddington is also famous for its cafes and sensation pub food. Café’s such as Paddington Grind, Sloane’s and Mickey’s are popular choices. For a cool glass of wine and good food head to The Paddington Inn or The London (William Street) both have a fabulous menu and cater to a variety of tastes.
If you are around on a Saturday you are bound to stumble on the famous Paddington markets witch are located in the local school. A ‘must do’- Paddington markets have been around for over twenty years with some store owners original since its inception.From clothing, leather goods, art work, sculpture, jewellery or the special gift for someone, Paddington markets will be the answer. |
